The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross was founded at Menzingen at Switzerland in the year 1844 by Fr.Theodosius Florentini and Mother Bernarda. The purpose was to bridge the gap between the Gospel values and the actual life of the people. They recognized the signs of the time and chose a new form of religious life among the people for the holistic formation and education of the young women. The Congregation came to India in 1906 to care for the sick in the Govt.hospitals at the request of the then ruling Maharaja of Travencore.
